The 6th ISST RESEARCH POSTER COMPETITION 2026

A. What is the ISST Research Poster Competition?

The 6th ISST Research Poster Competition 2026 is an international scientific competition organized as part of The 6th International Seminar of Science and Technology (ISST). Carrying the theme “Strengthening STEM Innovation for The Sustainable Development Goals”, the competition provides a platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students from universities around the world to creatively and effectively showcase their research findings through scientific posters.

The competition aims to foster a strong research culture among students, expand the dissemination of research outcomes, and strengthen collaborative networks at both national and international levels. Through this event, participants are encouraged not only to disseminate their scientific work but also to build and expand academic and professional collaborations that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

D. Research Poster Competition Guidelines 2026

  1. The research poster competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students worldwide.
  2. Participants can join as individuals or teams of 2 – 5 people.
  3. Each participant/team may submit only one poster.
  4. The poster content must be based on original research.
  5. Posters must be written in English.
  6. All submitted posters will be displayed on the ISST website (https://isst-fst.ut.ac.id/competitions/) and evaluated by judges, fellow participants, and the general public.
  7. The committee will select the best 40 posters to be exhibited during The 6th ISST 2026 on October 12, 2026.

F. Poster Assessment Criteria

  1. Originality and novelty of the research
  2. Relevance of the research to the theme and conference sub-themes
  3. Contribution of the research to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  4. Clarity of research objectives and methods
  5. Quality and accuracy of data presentation
  6. Organization and systematic flow of information on the poster
  7. Creativity and visual attractiveness of the poster
  8. Overall effectiveness of scientific communication

Note: The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.

G. Poster Submission Format

  1. Posters must be submitted in high-resolution PDF format.
  2. Poster size must be A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm) in portrait orientation.
  3. File naming format:
    (FirstAuthorName)_University_Subtheme_Undergraduate/Postgraduate Example: DianaRose_UniversitasTerbuka_Subtheme2_Undergraduate
  4. Posters must include:
    • ISST 2026 logo
    • Universitas Terbuka logo
    • Participant’s university logo (for participants from outside Universitas Terbuka)
  5. Poster content must include:
    • Research title
    • Author(s) and team members
    • Institutional affiliation
    • Contact information
    • Abstract
    • Introduction
    • Research objectives
    • Research methodology
    • Results and discussion
    • Conclusion
    • Acknowledgment (optional)
    • References
  6. Posters must use readable fonts, clear graphics, and appropriate scientific citation styles.

H. Awards

The ISST Research Poster Competition 2026 Committee will present several awards to outstanding participants, namely the Best Poster Award and Favorite Poster Award. All participants will receive an e-certificate as appreciation for their participation in this international scientific event, while winners will receive certificates of appreciation and prizes from the committee.
