Introduction
In celebration of the 41st Anniversary of Universitas Terbuka, the Faculty of Science and Technology will host the 5th International Seminar on Science and Technology (ISST) 2025. This international seminar is supported by several academic journals, including Jurnal Matematika, Sains, dan Teknologi; Food Scientia: Journal of Food Science and Technology; AgriDev: Journal of Agribusiness Digitalization & Community Development; Reksabumi: Journal of Urban, Regional, and Environmental Planning; and Manilkara: Journal of Bioscience. Selected articles will be published in the E3S Web of Conferences (currently under proposal) and the Proceedings of the International Seminar on Science and Technology (ISST).
The theme of the 5th ISST 2025 is:
“Advancing Science and Technology for a Sustainable and Resilient Future”
Scientific and technological advancements have continuously shaped human civilization by driving innovation, economic growth, and societal transformation. In today’s interconnected and rapidly changing world, the pursuit of sustainability and resilience has become more critical than ever. The growing impact of climate change, natural resource depletion, economic uncertainties, and other global challenges necessitates strategic solutions grounded in science and technology.
Addressing these multifaceted challenges requires collaboration across disciplines and sectors. The integration of knowledge among researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders is essential for developing effective and sustainable responses. The role of science and technology in creating a resilient global ecosystem is increasingly vital.
The 5th ISST 2025 aims to provide a platform for scholars, practitioners, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, present innovative research, and explore transformative strategies. This seminar seeks to leverage the power of innovation to build a future that is technologically advanced, environmentally responsible, and socially inclusive.

Objectives
The primary objectives of the 5th ISST are:
- To facilitate meaningful interaction among researchers, lecturers, practitioners, and academicians in addressing global sustainability and resilience challenges through scientific and technological innovation
- To provide researchers, lecturers, practitioners, and academicians an appropriate scientific platform to share share experiences, exchange knowledge, and establish networks with experts from Indonesia and around the world in the context of sustainability and resilience through science and technology.
