ISST Research Poster Competition 2025

A. What is The ISST Research Poster Competition?

The 5th ISST Research Poster Competition in 2025 is an international event held as part of the 5th International Seminar of Science and Technology (ISST). Carrying the theme “Advancing Science and Technology for a Sustainable and Resilient Future”, this competition is held for undergraduate students as a space to display their superior research results creatively and communicatively through scientific poster media.

This competition aims to encourage the spirit of research among students and expand the dissemination of research results to fellow researchers, academics, and the general public. Through this event, participants not only promote their scientific work, but also have the opportunity to build a collaborative network across universities, both nationally and internationally.

D. Research Poster Competition 2025 Guidelines

  1. The research poster competition is open to undergraduate students worldwide.
  2. Participants can join as individuals or teams of 2 – 5 people.
  3. Each participant (individual/team) may only submit one poster design.
  4. The content of the poster should be based on research.
  5. All research poster submissions will be displayed on the ISST website (https://isst-fst.ut.ac.id/postercompetition/) and will be evaluated by judges, other participants, and society members. The committee will print the best of 40 posters for all topics, and these posters will be showcased at an offline exhibition at the venue of the 5th ISST on 30 October 2025.

E. How to Register?

Student research poster competitions can be registered at https://isst-fst.ut.ac.id/postercompetition/. The fee for Universitas Terbuka student participants is Rp. 50.000, and for all participants from other universities, it is Rp. 100.000 (Indonesian) or USD  7 (foreign).

F. Research Poster Scoring Criteria

  1. The work is original and has not been submitted to a similar competition before.
  2. The presented poster aligns with the chosen sub-theme
  3. The work follows all the requirements for the poster template components.
  4. Data and information are presented in an easy-to-understand manner.
  5. The flow of information on the poster is clear.
  6. The poster design is creative and original.
  7. The accuracy of the research methods used. Note: The judges’ decision is final.

G. Poster Submission Format and Template

  1. The poster should be uploaded in high-resolution PDF format with a size A0 (84.1 x 118.9 cm in portrait orientation).
  2. Name the poster file using the following format: (First Writer) University_ThemeNumber; for example (DianaRose_Universitas Terbuka_Theme3).
  3. The poster must include the Universitas Terbuka logo, the university logo (for participants from outside Terbuka University), and the ISST logo.
  4. If including images, ensure that they do not violate copyright provisions and adhere to ethical usage.
  5. The poster’s content should include the title, names of authors and members, affiliation (university), contact information, abstract, introduction, objectives, method, results, conclusion, acknowledgments (if needed), and references.

An example of a poster template:
